Welcome to Our Dream Home in Nosara: A Sanctuary Built in Harmony with Nature
Welcome to our home in the tranquil San Juan Mountains of Nosara, where every detail celebrates the beauty of Costa Rica. When we first saw this land, we knew we had to build a home that not only showcased the breathtaking views but also preserved the unique flora surrounding it.
Right at the entrance, you're greeted by the stunning Amarillo Corteza, a native tree famous for its radiant yellow blooms. We designed the deck to wrap around it, taking extra care to protect its roots. It's these thoughtful touches that make our home a true sanctuary.
You'll also find banana trees and the eye-catching "dama desnuda" or "nude lady" trees, known for their vibrant pink flowers on bare branches. We made sure to keep these beauties intact, because we're all about living in harmony with nature.
This isn't just a house; it's our vision of sustainable living brought to life. Eco-friendly choices like natural airflow, solar hot water heating, and a high-tech Bionest septic system mean we're keeping our environmental footprint as light as possible.
We have poured our hearts into creating a space that blends comfort with nature. We hope you'll feel the love and care we've invested and envision your own peaceful moments here.
As you look through the construction photos, imagine the memories you could create in this magical setting. We believe this house is more than a structure—it's a place where life, in all its beauty, can truly be savoured.
Who we are
We’re Rick and Leslie — a Canadian couple who fell in love with Nosara’s magic and set out to create a home that reflects everything we value: nature, simplicity, elegance, and ease.
Rick spent 25 years as an engineer in the auto industry, leveraging his precision and technical skills in every aspect of our home’s construction. Leslie discovered Nosara while leading a Pilates retreat and was captivated by its vibrant landscapes and welcoming community. Together, we brought a balance of precision and creativity to building this home — and a deep desire to make the relocation experience easier for someone else.
Our vision was to build more than just a house — we wanted to create a sanctuary. A place that feels grounded in nature, filled with light and fresh air, and designed for real life: family dinners on the terrace, morning swims, and space for guests or caregivers in the separate studio.
We know what it’s like to dream about a life in Costa Rica and feel overwhelmed by timelines, builders, and uncertainty. So we took care of all that — and now, we’re passing this home on to someone who’s ready to step into a well-crafted life in Nosara, without the stress of starting from scratch.
